Painted Kitty Magnets

I found some little blank canvas magnets and these kitties magically appeared on them! I painted random marks of color and then looked for who or what wanted to be painted within the shapes and these guys showed up. They are 2 1/2 inches and are painted with acrylics. I rather like them and can't wait to do more!

Naughty Kitty Christmas Tree Ornaments

I love these naughty kitties!  When I was painting the trees, they seemed so boring and plain. I thought to myself, what would liven them up? Well, cats of course! Cats make everything better, don't they? These are wooden ornaments painted with acrylics, about 4x6" and available in my Etsy Store if interested.  Happy Holidays!!

Hand Painted Bird Ornaments

It's that time of year again when I start making ornaments! Each year I make a series of ornaments using a medium I haven't used before.  In the past, I've made ornaments with  drawings, mosaics, felt, cross stitch, crochet, polymer clay, and embroidery. This year I am painting wooden ornaments with acrylics. Here is my first group of sweet little birds. I'm just finishing some Christmas trees that I will post next. You can find them all in my Etsy Store - they make great stocking stuffers!

Embroidered Ladybug for Ginny

I wanted to create something special for my friend Ginny who loves ladybugs and this is what I made. I'm so glad I researched what ladybugs look like close up because otherwise I would've drawn a simple red circle with black spots! They are far more interesting looking than that.

It had to be on a heart shaped leaf, of course, because this is a long time dear friend we're talking about!  I used chain and split stitches for the leaf veins and blanket stitched the edges together. Love, love, love the blended wool felt. It is about 7" in size. I love how it turned out and Ginny did, too!

Embroidered Ornaments on Felt

I had fun creating these ornaments for gifts this Christmas.  I bought some beautiful blended wool felt in gorgeous colors and love it. I even added beads to one of the ornaments which was tricky but worthwhile.

I plan on experimenting more with the beads as well as creating more "softies," especially animals and maybe dolls, too, we'll see!

New Embroidery Designs - Cats

Where Are You Going?

I finished this one that I had posted earlier.  Not sure where the funky guy came from, but I kinda like his strangeness.  It's called "Where Are You Going?" and is 6".

This second one called "Devoted" is 4".  The split stitch and chain stitch seem to be my go-to stitches.  I love them.
