Sleeping Cat Painting

 

Another little painting I finished for the Goleta Valley Artist Tour last month.  Acrylics on sassafras wood, 5x5".  It was inspired by the sleeping cat I painted for Pianos on State.

15th and final book mosaic is grouted!

Here's part of it.  It is the only time I make an appearance in the book.  Raymi, of course, is the star.  :)

I'm now in graphic art mode - thinking about the cover, the end pages, the fonts, etc.  I won't be doing this part, Barb Keith will, but I'm starting to get an idea of how I'd like it to look.  The mosaics will be photographed tomorrow and as soon as they're ready, I'll send them to Barb.  I'm hoping the book goes to print in about a month!

Final mosaic for book is done!

The 15th and final mosaic for my children's book is finished, yes!  Even though I still have so much more work to do, it felt really great to glue that last piece down.  I already see changes I need to make in this one, but I'm going to go back to the beginning and start making my changes there.  I hope to get all of them done in a month, then grout!

Final mosaic for children's book underway

I've just started this last mosaic for my book, which is 12x15" and will be the last page of the book.  I'm using a photo that was taken a few years back as reference.  I love Raymi's pose with her outstretched toes!  It will be fun to use some pretty flower millefiori for the blanket.
